Here's how it works:
1. Link to the person that tagged you and leave a comment on their blog, so that their readers can visit yours.
2. Post the rules on your blog.
3. Share 7 Random facts about yourself on your blog.
4. Tag 7 random people at the bottom of your post, linking to their blog. Let each person know by leaving a comment on their blog.

Ok, well here are 7 completely useless facts about me:
1) 46 days until I am on vacation
2) I have to have a can of coke every morning to get started. And I HATE coffee.
3) Miles, the wonder cat's favorite place to sleep is on top of my head
4) I currently have 3,806 songs on my IPOD (and growing). The song playing now is Do It ('til your satisfied) by BT Express.
5) I'm not a book reader. Unless you count the two accounting text books that I am working my way through. I do have a subscribtion to just about every magazine under the sun. (Except CK!)
6) I am more of a collector of scrap supplies, rather than a scrapbooker. I have a gazillion un-finished projects just piled up.
7) I'll eat just about anything with cheese. Within reason, of course. And I'm not really particular about the type of cheese. It's all good. It's my favorite food!

I tag Jules, Jayne, Susie, Teri, Lauri (yeah, that will happen!)

Well.....

All right, all right, you guys have been good! And I know some of you are going away, sailing the deep blue! (yes, yes, I’m jealous. If it weren’t for these new stupid IRS laws, and having to certify all my plans by April 1st, I’d be right there with you. Why do cruises always end up in the middle of tax season/birthday season?)

So, this week, I did something. I did something completely insane, crazy, whatever you want to call it. Something totally and completely out of my comfort zone. I signed up for this:

http://singliveusa.com/

Yes, that’s right, run for the hills, because, yours truly will be on stage in front of hundreds of people. Why did I sign up for this? Temporary insanity, I must say.

It all started innocuously enough with a small newspaper ad in the Sunday paper looking for people who wanted to sing. I showed DH. He says “go for it”.

I said, “But what if they don’t like me?”
“Why wouldn’t they like you?”
“What if they don’t like the way I sound?”
“But it says No Experience Necessary, and you have plenty of that”“What if I make a fool of myself? I haven’t done anything like this since college!”
“OY! You’re not going to make a fool of yourself, you’re better than that”

So, I went to the orientation session and signed up. Of course, there were people there who already knew each other, and sang together, either in church choirs, or Sweet Adelines (the barbershop group). But there were there some who weren’t doing any of that. And the director was really good at making everyone feel comfortable and that this is just for fun!

The first rehearsal/orientation is April 21st, with the big show at TBPAC on July 12th. (Yes, for those brave souls who want to witness, we will have tickets for sale.) So, I’m excited, but scared!!! I actually have about 9 days to change my mind (and get my registration fee back). But nope, I’m going for it. Wish me luck, and pray I don’t fall on my face. ACK!!!! What am I thinking!?!?!?!?

Friday on my mind!

Oh happy day! Tomorrow is March 15th, and the corporate tax deadline will have come and gone. Well, theoretically, it’s actually Monday, but let’s face it: If you are calling me on Monday because you are just now starting your client’s taxes...well, you’re SOL!

We had a little celebration of sorts at my buddy Mike’s house. He was showing off his new deck, and his yard, which is looking very good right now. I finished off a bottle of Chardonnay, and hit the sack about 9:30. So, I missed the last half of Lost. I’ll have to catch the rest when I get home tonite.

Today for lunch we’re going to my favorite Thai/Sushi place downtown. I haven’t been since my birthday, so I’m really looking forward to it. It’s so good!!! I see a crunchy shrimp roll in my immediate future.

My horoscope said this week not to do any shopping. Which I didn’t. I’m glad, too, because I just paid a butt-load of bills today. How do those things sneak up on my so fast?

I got an invitation for the kids’ birthday next week. On Thursday. At 11:30 am. Yes, that’s right on a THURSDAY. My (not-so) brilliant SIL scheduled the party during Spring Break. (It was the only time she could get, she says). Obviously, DH and I can’t just take off work just to go to a birthday party. It would be nice if people on that side realize that unlike them, we actually HAVE to work for a living. It is not optional. So, I don’t know what we are going to do. She says we’re having DH’s birthday on the 22nd, so I guess I’ll give them their gifts then when I see it.

Okay, getting political for just a brief minute. Now, I am an Obama supporter, I will admit that. I don’t think that’s really news to anyone who knows me. But have you heard the latest stuff from his preacher of 20 years? All the racist, hatred speak, similar to a Farrakhan or a Sharpton? And this is someone he’s used as a spiritual advisor? Makes me very leery. I mean, that’s one of the reasons I can’t stand the Shrub is because of his closeness with the Evangelicals. Wouldn’t it be hypocritical to support someone who has aligned themselves with someone who sprouts off (albeit differently) a similar sort of ignorance and hatred?

BTW, Eric, the resident actuary says “Happy Pi Day!” http://www.piday.org/ Such geeks we are, ROFL!

This weekend...

As Father Mulcahey would say "Jocularity, Jocularity!" Spent Saturday over at the McCoys. As you can see, Travis has put on his best imitation of DH. ROFL!! Lots of laughs, and food too.

Well, this getting off at 4 hasn't been too bad so far, for only two days. DH is at the hockey game tonite, so I was bored and got my nails done.

And when that was done, I got my toes done, too.

(Ignore the hairy leg, haha!) So, I'm purty for a week or two. I had a sandwich at Bagel Bagel (next to Jakes on VanDyke). I had the Cordon Bleu sandwich and it was very tasty. I've been playing with my new Ipod too. It's pretty kewl. I'm getting all loaded with songs and videos. I love my toys. Well, let's hope the week keeps going quick!

Well, that's all for now.
